Can you see my captures?
No. Every capture, and its name, kind and time, is sealed on your Mac with AES-256-GCM before it uploads, under a key of its own. The keys that open them never leave your Macs, so we store only what we cannot open.
What if I lose my Mac?
When you turn Cloud on, the Mac shows you five security keys, once. Any one of them opens that Mac's Cloud on a new or reinstalled Mac. There is no reset, by design: lose the Mac and all five keys, and nobody can open it, us included.
Do the people I send a link to need Cappture?
No. A share link opens in any modern browser. Its key sits after the # in the address, which browsers never send to a server, so the file is unlocked on their screen and nowhere else.
What happens when my storage is full?
Uploads and new links pause until there is room. Nothing is deleted for it, and you get at most one email a day about it.
Can Claude use my captures?
If you want it to. Add Cappture as a connector in Claude, sign in here, and choose Allow. Claude reaches only the Macs you turn it on for, and you can disconnect it any time in Settings › Connected apps.
