Privacy

We keep what we need to run Cloud, and we can't read your captures.

We can't see your captures.
Pictures, recordings and what they are called reach us only sealed, with keys that stay on your Macs.
We keep your account small.
An email address, and what it takes to sign you in and bill you. Nothing about what you capture.
We don't sell or track.
No advertising, no analytics trackers, and nothing sold or shared to sell to you.
Things don't linger.
Expired links, deleted captures and spent sign-in codes are cleared on a schedule, not kept in case.

What we hold, and what we can't. Everything on the left is there to sign you in, sync, share and bill.

On our servers

Your email address, and a name if you give one
A scrypt hash of your password, if you set one, and Google's id for you if you use Google
Your sessions, as hashes
Your sealed captures, their sizes and when each was uploaded
The names your Macs report, and which licences and team seats are yours
Share links' sealed files, sizes and types, and when they expire

Sealed on your Mac, or never sent

Nothing is kept longer than it is needed for.

Captures you delete: Thirty days in Recently Deleted, then removed for good.
Share links: The file goes the moment you stop a link, and within a day of its expiry. An open-once link's files go 30 minutes after it is opened.
Sessions: 30 days, or until you sign out.
Sign-in codes and links: Twenty minutes to use one; the spent ones are cleared every day.

Turn Cloud off for a Mac whenever you like, in Cappture’s Settings, Cloud. Everything on that Mac stays on it.

Change your email or password, or sign out of every browser, in the dashboard’s Settings.

To have your account and everything stored with it deleted, write to cloud@getcappture.com from its address.
