Use your captures in Claude.

Ask Claude about your screenshots and recordings, on the web, on your phone or in the desktop app. Your Mac answers.

Connector addresshttps://cloud.getcappture.com/mcp

Paste it into Claude › Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.

How to connect.

Once in Claude, then once on each Mac you want it to reach, in either order.

  1. 01

    Add the connector in Claude

In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, open Settings › Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Call it Cappture, and paste the address.

    https://cloud.getcappture.com/mcp

  2. 02

    Sign in here

Claude sends you to this site. Sign in with the Cappture Cloud account your licence is on, or one it was added to.
  3. 03

    Choose Allow

The page names the app asking, where it will send you back to, and which of your Macs are answering. Allow takes you back to Claude, connected.
  4. 04

Turn it on, on your Mac

In Cappture, open Settings › AI, turn on Let AI tools ask Cappture, then Claude on the web. Do it on each Mac you want Claude to reach. That Mac has to be on, with Cappture open, to answer.

Settings › AI › Claude on the web

  5. 05

    Ask Claude

In any chat, ask about your captures. Claude uses the connector when it needs to, and the same connector works in Claude on your phone.

What Claude can do. It asks your Mac, and your Mac answers.

  • search_captures

    Search your captures

By name, the text in them, what was said in them, or the day they were taken. Newest first.

For example: Find the screenshot of the invoice from last week.

  • get_capture

    Look at one

The picture, or a recording’s first frame, with its name, kind, size and when it was taken.

For example: What’s on the screenshot I took this morning?

  • get_text

    Read its text

The words read from it on your Mac, then the links, dates, phone numbers, email and street addresses and QR codes in them.

For example: Copy out the error message from my last screenshot.

  • get_links

    Pull out the links

Every link in one capture or several, including any a QR code holds.

For example: List the links in my screenshots of that thread.

  • get_transcript

    Read a transcript

What was said in a recording, once it has been transcribed in Cappture.

For example: Sum up what was said in yesterday’s recording.

  • pinboards

    Add to an album

Lists your albums, or adds a capture to one. The only thing Claude can change.

For example: Add the receipt screenshots to my Expenses album.

Your captures stay on your Mac. Claude gets an answer to each question, and nothing more.

What Claude can see

  • Captures on the Macs you turn it on for, while that Mac is on with Cappture open. With several, the first to pick up a question answers it from its own.
  • Only the kinds each Mac allows in its Settings › AI. Screenshots, screen recordings, the text in captures and transcripts start on; photos and videos from the camera start off.
  • One change: adding a capture to an album. Nothing else it asks for changes anything.

What it can’t

  • Your Cloud. Your Cloud copies are sealed, so we couldn’t answer from them if we tried. Every answer comes from a Mac.
  • Anything you put in Hidden, on any Mac.
  • Anything after it’s answered. Each answer passes through Cappture Cloud on its way to Claude and is deleted once delivered. Nothing of a request or an answer is logged on our side.
  • Anything once you revoke it. Revoke it in Settings › Connected apps and it’s cut off at once.

On the Mac itself.

Claude Desktop and Claude Code can also talk to Cappture directly, on the same Mac. Nothing passes through Cloud.

Claude Desktop

Installs as a Claude extension

  1. In Cappture, open Settings › AI and turn on Let AI tools ask Cappture.
  2. Under Apps, choose Claude Desktop. Claude shows its install sheet.
  3. The first time Claude asks, Cappture asks you to allow it.

Claude Code

Added with claude mcp add

  1. In Cappture, open Settings › AI and turn on Let AI tools ask Cappture.
  2. Under Apps, choose Claude Code. Cappture adds itself, with a token for Claude Code alone.
  3. Run /mcp in Claude Code to see it.

Cursor, Codex and any app that speaks MCP connect from the same list.

Questions

About the connector, and what to do when Claude can't reach your Mac.

Claude says none of my Macs is answering.
A Mac answers when Cappture is open on it, with Settings › AI › Let AI tools ask Cappture and Claude on the web both on. Open Cappture on one and ask again. Claude waits up to 25 seconds for an answer.
Does Cloud have to be on?
No. The connector doesn't use your library in Cloud; your Mac answers from the captures on it. You need a Cappture Cloud account to sign in with, and a Mac on your licence.
Which Mac answers if I have several?
Whichever of your answering Macs picks the question up first, and it answers from its own captures. Something only on another Mac won't be in that answer.
Should I use the connector or the extension in Claude Desktop?
Either. The extension talks to Cappture on the same Mac. The connector reaches whichever of your Macs is answering, and works in Claude on the web and on your phone too.
Does it work on a team?
On a Mac with a licence of its own, yes. Macs on a team's shared editor licence don't answer Claude, so one person's Mac can never answer for someone else.
How long does it stay connected?
Until you revoke it. Claude's access lasts 60 minutes at a time and renews itself; if it goes unused for 60 days, you sign in again.
Can I see what Claude asked?
Yes, on the Mac that answered. In Cappture, Settings › AI › Requests lists each request under Claude on the web: what it was about, and whether it was answered or refused by a setting.
Is there a limit?
120 requests every minute for each account. Each request is one thing Claude asks your Mac for.
How do I disconnect it?
Revoke it in Settings › Connected apps, which deletes its access at once. Or turn off Claude on the web on a Mac, and that Mac stops answering.

Ask Claude about your captures.

Add the connector, sign in, choose Allow. Your Mac does the rest.

Seven days free, no card. It runs entirely on your Mac.
